Strawberry X'mas

This year Christmas, we didn't go to anywhere far...despite we wanted to at the beginning. Well, guess we were not determined enough and worked it hard to anywhere though.

On the Christmas day, I woke up late at around 9.30 am. When I was brushing my teeth, suddenly this idea flashed across my mind : Go get the strawberry...Ok, when the mind tells you to do that, why not?

After taking a simple breakfast, we checked the internet for the exact location and then we departed at noon time.

We have been to this strawberry farm (阿良有機士多啤梨自摘園) last year, about this time too. Knowing the strawberries here are good, naturally it became our 1st choice.

The farm is quite big, half of the size of a football field, I think.

No eating on the spot.

Told them the rules again and again : cut the big, and the bloody red one. Otherwise, there will be a high unworthy-price to pay for.

William picked it a bit too fast. Within a short time, the basket is almost half full.

Vincent is more "cautious".

Such a beautiful view.

Strawberry's flower is beautiful too.

I find that the good one are usually covered under the leaf...

And some of the strawberries doesn't shape like a strawberry. Other than that, they are nothing indifferent.

I'm a picky one. I only picked those "best of the best".

And this one is the biggest amongst all. Its size is as big as a small size egg.

I stood there and looked at those kids, they were so concentrated in picking their right strawberries. I think they can spend a few hours time in there. And I would love to give them that time, only if the charges is not HKD 50 / lb.

Add up, we had picked 3 baskets full. Translate that into weight, it's 4.7 lb. Translate that into $$, it's HKD 235 (Bloody expensive !!)

4.7 lb of strawberries are too much for us. So, on the way we drove home, we decided to give some away to 2 of the friends who live somewhere nearby. Looking at their happy faces when seeing this little gift, it's worth all the money.

Also, we reserved some strawberries for a friend who we would go to her place for steamboat dinner on the next day. Those are the remaining for the 4 of us.

Looking at those striking red color and green color in a beautiful contrast, I think I know why it comes to my mind in that Christmas's morning. Isn't the colors best representing Christmas?
