A Mixed Day

On the 3rd day, my brother came to hotel to pick us at 8.30 am.

First of all, we planned to meet up my friend & her family for breakfast, then visited her house in Jurong. My friend took us to a nearby town for porridge-breakfast, she said the porridge there are very yummy and famous.

After this, we went to her house straight away. Her house is a duplex one, very spacious. Although our visitation was short, my friend was so kind that she demonstrated us a self-healing method, LJPD. I was so amazed to see all the bruises she had caused to my brother & I. I really think it's time for me to pay serious attention to my own health from now on.

If things happen for a reason, that must be the reason why we fly a thousand miles to get to know this method from an old dear friend of mine. (Soon after we returned to HK, I bought the book which my friend had introduced to me, and I started to exercise LJPD since than until now).

We left my friend's house at around 11am, and headed straight to JB, to my little brother's place. Since that day was a public holiday (Good Friday), we did expert traffic congestion. However, we have never, ever predict that we could get stuck in the traffic for more than 3 hours soon after crossing Singapore's customs, just for a short distance of 2km to clear the immigration counters set at Malaysia's side. It's very frustrated to see how inefficient our system is when compare to Singapore's.

Due to the unexpected long traffic jam, we got to change our plan. My brother called my little brother & asked him to bring everyone to a place to meet up instead going to his place which will take some more 30 min driving time. I so pity my brother who got to drive like a snail on the road.

Finally, we get to see one another in this small coffee shop. We all get so exhausted waiting, damn the jam that had spoil our mood.

The kids get recover very quickly though. Soon, they all squat at a pet shop to watch the live performance of  some hamsters.

Since the time was getting late, we got to leave JB and headed back to Singapore at around 4.30 pm. It's really too bad that we drove 3.5 hours just for a 1-hour short reunion. Sigh, I have to console myself that things won't always go to the way I want it to be.

One of the reasons we went to JB was to pick up my mom. She would fly back to HK with us on the same day, but different flight.

Thank God the journey back to Singapore was super smooth. Within 30 minutes time, we were back to the island already. The normal time it should be.

Before we checked in to another hotel which is located at Orchard Road, my brother made a detour to Marina Barrage. He said that's a good place to view the new landmark, i.e. Marina Bay Sands & the Singapore flyer.

It's our first time to see Marina Bay Sands fronting Marina Bay. The outlook of this architecture is so distinctive that the boys could tell "it's a giant ship landed on top of 3 buildings".

The water playground, cool.

A young father who sat there with his baby had captured my attention for a while.

The expansive views of the city and the entire Marina Bay, making the skyline for Singapore's downtown more attractive and distinctive.

Marina Bay Sands is one of 2 winning proposals for Singapore's first Integrated Resorts, the other being the Resorts World Sentosa, which incorporates a family-friendly Universal Studios Theme park. Developed by Las Vegas Sands, it is billed as the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion, including cost of the prime land.

Marina Bay Sands was originally planned to be completed in a single phase in 2009, but rising construction costs and the financial crisis forced the company to open it in phases. the 1st phase's preview opening was further delayed until 27 April 2010, and the official opening was pushed back to 23 June 2010. The rest of the complex remained under construction and was opened after a grand opening on 17 February 2011.

With the casino complete, the resort features a 2561 hotel rooms, convention-exhibition centre, malls, museum, two large theatres, seven "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, an ice skating rink, and the world's largest atrium casino.

The complex is topped by a 340m long SkyPark and a 150m infinity swimming pool, at on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform.

Brother told us the SkyPark and its infinity swimming pool is further opened to the public unless one is the guest of the hotel. That's too bad.

The skyline of Singapore down town has become so attractive and distinctive when compare to the last time I saw it.

I really feel that the development of HK is so lagging behind all these years. Look at our West-Kowloon's project....10 year had passed, but nothing happen yet (a big sigh).

The higher we go, the better view we get....

Awesome !

Many people were flying kites at the park there.

If we go to Singapore next time, maybe we will want to check in the hotel there, for once-in-a-life-time experience.

Sons wanted to ride on those electrical scooter when he saw it. It's not too expensive, S$10 for 30 minutes.

He was very happy riding on it, kids.

Actually we wanted to rent one more scooter for Vincent, but too bad there wasn't any bigger scooter left which is right for his size. So, we have to ask William to share his scooter with his brother.

30 minutes had passed very fast.

We left the place at about 7pm.

Then, bother drove us to Orchard Road to check in the Mandarin Hotel. After everything was done, we went to a nearby restaurant for dinner. It was another exhaustive day though we did not many thing on that day.
