Po Toi Island

It's been 4 years ago since we last visited Po Toi Island, together with my parents at that time.

Po Toi Island is remote and beautiful, that made me wanted to visit there again all these years. Finally this year, we've made it happen.

Same like before, we went to the Blake Pier at Stanley to take the boat operated by Tsui Wah Ferry Service.

The boat schedule is not frequent. For Saturday & Sunday, it departs from Stanley at 10am & 11.30 am, and back on 2pm & 3.30pm. So we got to watch out the time carefully.

This time, my friend LC & her hubby & her 2 sons had joined us too.

The boat had arrived the pier at around 11.30am to pick up the passengers. I would say quite punctual.

There is no ticketing counter around, so every passengers will purchase the ticket on board. Anyway, this is husband's business when it comes to ticket's stuffs.

Po Toi Island is just 3km off shore Stanley. The estimated sailing time is 30 minutes.

Home for the rich, if not famous.

Sailing on the wide-open sea made me feel wide and open inside too.

We have never tried this before, I hope my boys will take us for this one day in the future, and I leave this to them.

Those big satellite dishes give me a feeling that they are trying to connect to the outer space, with aliens.

Not only crowded on the land, but on the sea too.

When I looked around, I was awed to see this....it's like a lime light was shinning right from the above to this boat, stunning.

William & the Tsui's brothers.

I still wish to see a beautiful little mermaid sitting there, singing & waving to us.

30 minutes later, our boat approached the cove slowly.

The newly refurbished Tin-Hou Temple.

The foreigners like to hire a private boat and come here for partying....

The cove, and the only sea food restaurant in the whole island.

Pier of the Island.

An old lady who is nonchalantly in her business....

The entrance...still look the same.

I really think someone, maybe the government, should fork some money to tidy up the place and make it looks more pleasant to the visitors.

The abandoned houses were still in a mess...nobody cares to clear it up or officially turn them into a historical site.

The old trees are very beautiful, especially their branches...

Nope, we didn't take this route...

We took the sea-side route instead....

Walking towards the sea side then....

Those rocks, still as beautiful as ever before...

Can't imagine a family with 4 boys.

It's like forever, there will be a boat resting here...

While we were admiring the beauty of the surrounding, those boys climbed up a cliff to claim their victory.

Told them our next goal would be climbing up to the Turtle Rock, like those people did. Then they all moved on cheerfully.

William seems to have very good memory about the colors, he could tell that the bridge was used to be green and yellow, but they had changed it to orange now. When I looked back the old photos, I was surprised to confirm that he was right about it.

Fishing alone must be fun....

Initially, we thought we would end our walk by the time we reached the light house at the top over there...

Looking back...

Po Toi Island is famous for the peculiar rocks that resemble something and something. This one is called , which means a turtle is climbing up the hill.

The weather on that day was just nice for hiking....

William had started eating his red-bean polo bun already.

Some was standing on the turtle's back.

4 years ago, we had stopped right here. I still remember my dad, sat there and let me took a photo of him. I'm glad he had at least walked us up to here.

Looking back....

He was still eating...

Look serious with a stick in his hand, haha...

Took a break and that means, eating time....

Kau-kau-zhang again....

Yo, let's go.

All of the rocks here got their own style...

This one looks so much like a palm...

William thought he had picked a crystal rock. Well, maybe it's real, who knows?

Looking back at the pavilion which we had just taken a short break.

A turtle is looking at the sea....

Another turtle is climbing up the hill....

There is another trail on the hill over there, but less popular, as it's not walking by sea side.

The light house is the destination for most people, but not for us.

Chester was the first one who got there...he seldom stopped over like we did.

Some of them were still playing out there.

Me and the Monk Rock.

Way at my back...

Way in my front....

This boy simply doesn't like to go by using an easy way.

LC & I.

I like going up, cause of the good view I can see from the top.

We continued the walk to the cape downs there...

It's quite windy, luckily not too cold yet.

Quite some people lingering around the rocks...

Found a small cave, but no monster in there.

We sat on the rocks, let the kids indulged in their imaginary play.

Another lone ranger.

Wonder what's the crane was here for...found any treasures deep in the sea?

We walked back to the pier slowly to catch the 2.30pm boat.

Another turtle, resting on the shore.

The Palm Cliff.

The boat was still there....

A red in the green

40 minutes later, we walked back to Kuan-Kee store.

We didn't go to the cove over there this time...maybe next time, alright.

Anyway, we rested for a while at the small stall selling drinks and red-bean soup at the entrance / exit.

What a pity that the government didn't bother to invest some money to tidy up this place & to set up some small cafe around the area.

The boat left Po Toi Island at 2.30 pm sharp. We separated with LC and her family after arriving Stanley.

On the way driving home, we stopped by a beach, hoping to take a light meal. But end up we just lingered around the beach area.

Husband and I laid on the beach, so called resting.

Like holding a small toy with 2 fingers.

40 minutes later, we left the beach and drove home for sure.....
