311 Catastrophe

Every now and then, the world just won't remain as peaceful as I wish it to be...

I do feel sad to see other people's pain and suffering, but I will normally back to my usual self fast. Yet this 9.0 magnitude earthquake, followed by tsunami, followed by nuclear leak, is too much for me to let it go easily, especially when I have colleague, friend and customer whom I care, living near the affected area.

My colleague who has stationed in Tokyo for more than 5 years, refused to go back HK even though HK government had badly urge all of the residents to return home immediately. He said he just can't leave his girl friend and her family behind. I'm so moved with his "you-jump-I-jump" heroic decision, and I'm proud of him too. There is not much I can do except to provide him as many latest information as possible from here, and pray for his safety.

Anyway, life goes on. I received some emails from some customers, inquiring about the material's supply-chain situation from Japan. I understand those customer's worries, but really, people are having their biggest turmoil in life, is this the right time to ask them this difficult question and seek for immediate answer? Come on, be considerate, I think that's the least we should do.

As the radiation leak crisis seems to get worst from worse, people from China and HK started panic-buying salt in very bulk quantity on yesterday. There is rumor saying that iodine content in salt can protect one from radiation. Little do they know that they need to consume 2.5-5 kg salt to accumulate the iodine content which is equivalent to 1 iodine tablet. If they really do this, their kidney will most probably damaged and collapsed by then .

Tonight, I just want to pray for WORLD PEACE .*

I feel the same as you do about the situation in Japan right now, each time I read about their news, my eyes will be filled with tears somehow :(.
Hope you are doing fine in HK. Do keep us posted on the situation there. Pray that everything will turn out well.

We are doing fine in HK, though a bit worried when we hear the situation is getting worse from time to time.

Really hope all this will over soon...
