Tai O, again

The last time I went to Tai O was about 2.5 years ago, dad was there with us too. Thinking of this had made me feel sad when I visited this place again.

This time, I went Tai O with my mom and my brother CW, on the second day they arrived HK. Without the kids tagging along, this trip was a quiet one.

My brother is one of the most filial sons in the world. He had done many good deeds for my parents and thus, made them really proud of him.

Ever since dad had gone, I tried very hard to persuade mom to live with her 4 children from time to time, for I think this can make her days less lonely and more lively. We just hope she will find her way of life again, soon.

I didn't ask how they feel, but the things we saw here had retrieved many many old memories in me. I remember my grandparents house was something like that too....

just that my grandparents house, nor my parents house, was never near to the sea side.

Like every mom does, subconsciously my mom would treat me like her little girl at times. But the truth is, I am no longer her little girl. Well, I guess this is one of the saddening facts that every mom need to accept one day, including me.

I pray that my own children will grow up like their uncle, be a filial and caring son to the parents. To me, this would be the greatest blessing in life.

To be honest, I feel proud of this brother too...

Time change, people change, but this place, just look the same to me.

still looks very old and very charm in its unique way....

The people who live in the door behind, must be some one who care less about this modern world...

for her kitchen's setting is like this...

and she probably still chops woods for fire...

Salted fish, one of my dad's favorite. I still remember he wanted to buy some and bring it home last time. But I "lectured" him and said it's not good to his health...

Dad, I would buy all this to you this time, in my heart.

We walked on this old lane until this end, then turned back....

When I saw this burning fire, suddenly my heart feel lively again.

Yes, if only I look things in detail, I will always see beauty out from the debris. I should remember and remind myself of this all the time.

Besides taking some local delicacy, we bought nothing from here.

This is because the dried foods are sold at startling high price. For example, this one cost HK$10K / kg.

This one was hang there to attract the tourists taking photos of it.

The must-do activity in Tai O is to take a little motor boat and sail to the outer sea to look for the white / pink dolphins. It still cost HK$ 20 only despite of the high soaring inflation outside there.

From here, it's the scenes we saw along the boat journey that last for 20 minutes....

Lucky we, could still see the dolphins showing up in this winter time. Anyway, we saw less if compared to last time.

the hiking trail which we still haven't conquer...

the temple we didn't visit this time....

the mangroves...

the very old part of the stitch house...

a crane was taking his afternoon walk...

it just a matter of time when it will collapse one day, isn't it?

an old lady fishing here...

the fishing net...

a casual chatting at the balcony...

some well decorated balcony..

some undecorated balcony...

the best 'good-looking' restaurant in Tai O.

a shrimp paste factory...

Yes, salted fish can be seen everywhere...

back to the bridge that connect the two lands...

We get off the boat from here, exactly the place we get on the boat too.

This is the first time CW visited Tai O, so he should be the one who take more photos with this place.

Looking at the other side of Tai O.

None of us have the interest to buy this old lady's products.

Also because the 3 of us need to watch out our cholesterol level.

Basically, that's Tai O.
